Connecting Vancouver: Active Transportation Plan for Amtrak Station

Vancouver, Washington’s Amtrak station provides a vital link for travelers heading to a wide variety of locations in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. It’s a key part of the regional travel picture and is situated at the junction of two important rail lines. The station itself is located less than a mile from Esther Short Park and City Hall in the heart of downtown Vancouver, yet lacks safe and accessible active transportation connection to these destinations. The goal of this project is to provide a framework for improving these conditions, with a particular focus on how those with physical disabilities navigate the area.
