Sabin CDC Affordable Infill Initiative

Grounded Growth (a group of urban planning master students at Portland State University) collaborated with Sabin CDC, a local affordable housing provider, on an affordable infill development project. The project team analyzed the possibility of developing backyard ADUs on 11 scattered sites in North and Northeast Portland for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our recommendations included four ADUs, improvements to maintenance operations, and a grant financing strategy to give Sabin CDC the best chances for a successful project in a difficult funding environment.
