Urban Inequality Analysis: Charlotte, NC

This project examines patterns of income, poverty, and racial segregation in the Charlotte metropolitan area from 2000 to 2022. Using U.S. Census and American Community Survey data, I mapped shifts in median household income, poverty concentration, and racial demographics to highlight how historic segregation and contemporary growth continue to shape disparities across the region. The analysis combines spatial data visualization with socioeconomic trends to illustrate the widening gap between rich and poor, and to consider the implications for equitable urban planning.
